 Luis Gomes

Dr. Luís Gomes is a is a Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal and a researcher at UNINOVA Institute, Portugal. From 1984 to 1987, he was with EID, a Portuguese medium enterprise in the area of electronic system design, in the R&D engineering department. His main interests include the usage of formal methods for embedded systems co-design, like Petri nets and other concurrency models, emphasizing reconfigurable devices and SoC based implementations. He was the responsible for the organization of the Petri Nets Conference in 1998, and general co-chair for IEEE ETFA-2003 Conference, both at Lisbon. He is an IEEE-IES AdCom member since 2004, and Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.
