AM Fong

Dr. AM Fong is a Principal Scientist and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the SIMTech Institute of Manufacturing Technology and the National University of Singapore. His previous appointments include: Director, French-Singapore Institute, Singapore; Director, Automation Technology Division, Gintic, Singapore; and Director, Quality Processes, SIMTech Institute of Manufacturing Technology

He has over 30 years of experience in electrical engineering applications for the automation of industrial processes. He holds three patents in signal processing and machine vision. He is the author of the book “Advanced Techniques in Automated Material Processing’ (World Scientific, 2002). He is also an author of a chapter on “SEMI Standards and Applications’ for the ‘Handbook of Industrial Informatics’ (Editor: Dr. Richard Zurawski, CRC Press, 2004).  

Dr. Fong received BSc (Eng)) in 1971, University of Salford, England; M.Sc (Eng) in 1973, University of Salford, England; and  Ph.D (Eng) in 1989, University of London, England. He is Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
